Awful People Who Did Surprisingly Good Things

No matter what your definition of “good deed” is, you’re going to be surprised by the stories that we’ve collected here today. There are tales of lifelong criminals who don’t seem to hold anything in high regard saving the lives of the police officers who arrested them, and war criminals who made sure that everyone received a free education – it’s truly a twisted collection of bad people trying to do good things. A group of inmates interred at Rikers Island came to the rescue of a female prison guard who was about to be raped by a prisoner inside a  locked vestibule. The assaulting prisoner was dragged off the woman by a team of inmates.

Thieves Bust Child Abuse Ring

In 2009, two petty thieves who stole a laptop discovered a collection of disturbing child abuse images and immediately reported the original owner of the laptop to the police.  Officers discovered 78 illegal images – 13 stills and 65 “movies” – of varying seriousness and then went after the creep.

Burglar Saves the Life of Elderly Woman

An ex-con who found work as a window washer noticed a 78-year-old woman having stroke like symptoms inside her home and he i mmediately called an emergency hotline. Afterwards, her son thanked the ex-con, saying that he saved his mother’s life.
